Engaged: Erika+Mike - Mill Stream Reservation

03 March 2015

Where to begin with these two.  It’s always a huge compliment when friends ask you to photograph their wedding, and Erika and Mike are no exception.  We’ve known them for years.  In fact, our little Bub was quite smitten with Erika when he met her for the first time.  I think he was a toddler.  He’s one smart cookie because Erika is all kinds of sweet.  Here’s a little warning about my husband.  He’s like a dog with a bone when it comes to other people getting married.  I think the first time we met Erika, Scott turned to Mike and asked when he was going to buy her a ring.  He never stopped asking in all the time that we’ve known them.

Our little man happens to think that Mike is pretty cool too.  Mike is a magician, and his enthusiasm is contagious.  He loves to make people laugh, including Erika.  I will say though...I think, based on the images below, they’re both good at making each other laugh.  The fact that they were all about having a snowball fight during their engagement session in 10 degree weather should say how awesome they are :)

Eek.  Scott and I can’t wait for this wedding.  We are so honored and excited to be a part of the beginning of their marriage.

Blessings,

Engaged: Megan+Adam - Olmsted Falls Engagement

18 February 2015

There are times in life, when I feel so blessed by the people that are put in my life.  Colleen Reed is one of those people.  In 2012, I photographed Brittany & Mike’s wedding with her.  Little did I know that she would be sending Brittany’s sister, Megan my way 2 years later.

When Megan and Adam contacted me about photographing their wedding, I couldn’t help but be excited.  There is just something about being a part of multiple weddings for a family.  It’s as if you’re being adopted into the family.  It is the biggest compliment in the world to be trusted with such an important part of a couple’s life.

Back in October, Megan and Adam drove up from Columbus to do their engagement session on a gorgeous fall day.  Megan grew up in Olmsted Falls, so of course it makes sense that we chose the covered bridge to photograph them.  Ack, Megan is cute.  Adam just brings out this smile in her that lights her up.  To see them interact with each other made for lots of smiles from me behind the camera as I captured them.

I am so excited to photograph their wedding this year with Colleen.  If they were this happy during their engagement session, I can only imagine how happy they are going to be on their wedding day.

Blessings,

Engaged: Chelsea+Darren - Buckeye Woods

10 February 2015

The week of their engagement the weather was absolutely horrible.  All the beauty of fall had finally started to take a turn towards colder, wetter and windier days.  We weren’t even sure if the weather would hold out for Chelsea and Darren’s engagement session, but when the day arrived, it couldn’t have been more perfect.

Chelsea loves to run and one of her favorite spots is this gorgeous place.  I’m not a runner at all, but being here, I can just imagine how peaceful it could be.  I can imagine the natural beauty of this place allowing me to center my day or let go of my frustrations of the day.  She’s a smart cookie for choosing this location to run it all out.

My hubby, Scott, talks to Darren every day.  In fact, as this was being written, they were traveling together for work.  That’s how we met them.  Our guys work together, and Scott thinks very highly of Darren.  So, we were absolutely thrilled when they asked us to be their wedding photographer.  Then, when I showed up at the engagement shoot location, I couldn’t have been more thrilled.  Oh the light.  Yes, I’m geeky like that.  I’m a sucker for amazingly good light, and seriously, though this place is gorgeous already, all the beautiful light just made my evening.

Congrats on your engagement, guys!!!  We are thrilled to be a part of your lives and the beginning of your marriage.

Blessings,

Engaged: Tricia+Brian - Hudson Springs Park

14 October 2014

Y'all won't believe what happened last week.  Okay, maybe you will.  The phone/internet/cable went down at our house for a couple of days.  AT&T had to be scheduled to come out and fix it.  Needless to say, it put a kink in me trying to get work done.  Truthfully though, it's not a problem if you think about what's going on in the world as a whole.  There are so many in the world that don't have clean water or enough food or even a place to live.  We are blessed beyond belief!  The point in me mentioning all this is just to say sorry that this post didn't go up las week as intended, because boy do I have a cute couple for you today!

When I met Tricia and Brian, Tricia and I couldn't believe that we hadn't already become friends.  We have so many mutual friends.  Not to mention, Tricia loves The Wizard of Oz as much as I do!  These two are precious together.  Brian absolutely dotes on Tricia in the sweetest ways.

They chose to do their engagement photos in the same location that Brian proposed to Tricia.  Hudson Springs Park is one of Tricia's favorite spots in the world to spend time just being.  As you walk along the lake path into the woods, there's this little baby trail that leads to an outlook.  Tricia loves to sit in this spot.  One snowy winter day when they were visiting, Brian and Tricia decided to go for a walk at the park.  The park was blanketed in snow and they had it all to themselves.  Brian walked them to Tricia's favorite spot and asked Tricia to be his wife.  Now, Tricia's favorite spot has become so much more special to both of them.

It was such fun spending this time with them.  They are such a sweet couple that truly can't wait for their wedding Mass.  Scott and I can't wait to be a part of that!

Blessings,
